The Pennsylvania Capitol Building was modeled after Saint Peter's Basillica in Rome with a vaulted dome that rises 272 feet, and the marble staircase was fashioned after the Grand Staircase at the Paris Opera.

Hershey Entertainment and Resorts
Hershey, named after Milton S. Hershey, was built during the Great Depression to house and assist the workers at his Chocolate factory. It is now rated as pne of the top tourist destinations in the country. In addition to the town and amusement areas, his legacy continues through the school he established for orphans and children from economically depress situations.

The Susquehanna River
Harrisburg is on the banks of the beautiful Susquehanna River. Geologically it one of the most ancient rivers on the planet, probably in existence at the time of Pangea. It is named for the Susquehannock Indians who lived along it's banks from at least 3000 BC. Artifacts from the tribe are found along it's banks.
Visitors to the Capitol can ride The Pride of the Susquehanna, a riverboat tour which gives a history of Harrisburg, attend one of the summer festivals along the banks of the river, or take in a game on City Island of the Harrisburg Senators Baseball team.

Emmitsburg, MD is the home to Mount Saint Mary's College and Seminary with it's beautiful Grotto. It is also the home of the Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Shrine. Saint Elizabeth established a school in Emmitsburg which would become the foundation of the Parochial School System in America.
